We've all felt that flutter of possibility mixed with the weight of expectation. That moment when we stand at the threshold of creating something new — whether it's a poem, a painting, a business plan, or simply a different way of moving through our day.
I've been thinking about these starting lines lately. About how they're both the most difficult and most sacred part of any creative journey. How they require us to be brave enough to make a mark, to break the silence, to declare: I am here, and I have something to say.
That's why I'm launching this podcast. Because I believe we need more spaces that honor the courage it takes to begin again. And again. And yes, sometimes again after that.
Each week, I'll share a short reflection — nothing fancy or profound, just something I'm carrying. A small stone turned over in my palm that might feel smooth in yours too. There will be a moment to breathe together (because how often do we remember to do that?), something to consider, and a gentle question you can carry with you, like a pebble in your pocket, to touch throughout your day.
There's no timeline here. No syllabus. No falling behind.
Just breath. Just noticing. Just beginning.
Whenever you're ready.
Because that's the thing about starting lines — they're patient. They wait for us. They don't demand we show up with our best selves or our most brilliant ideas. They simply ask that we show up at all.
So consider this your invitation to a kinder creative practice. One where beginning again isn't a setback but a skill. Where each false start and hesitation isn't wasted energy but part of the necessary gathering of courage.
What small thing are you beginning today? What line are you standing at, gathering your breath? I'd love to hear about it in the comments below.
The first episode is waiting for you—listen directly on this page or find Starting Lines in your preferred podcast app. Everyone can access the first two episodes before the series continues exclusively for paid subscribers
